CAREGIVERS
Parents, family members, informal & volunteer caregivers…
Caregivers play one of the most important roles in helping a child reach their full potential. Having a child born preterm, with medical complications, or a higher risk of developing cerebral palsy can be extremely difficult. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the situation and feel unsure about who to talk to, where to go, or what questions to ask. EI3 is here to help provide support, resources, and information so you can decide what is best for your family.
Lastly, support groups and community organizations can offer valuable resources, information, and emotional support to caregivers, fostering a network of individuals who understand and empathize with the challenges of raising a child with CP.

Providers
Are you a professional who is interested in learning more about the international guidelines for early identification of Cerebral Palsy and how to implement them in your hospital or clinic?
Physicians, physical therapists, early interventionists, case managers, administrators can all play a role in helping families navigate the challenging time from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit through the first year of life. Working together we can help families who have concerns about their infants development or who have early risk factors to get the help they need. International guidelines published in JAMA Pediatrics in 2017 highlight the early and accurate diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy by 3-6 months of age with comprehensive and specific assessments.
